Wondering...
Do you wonder what it may be like to work for the library
with the third largest circulation
in the United States?
Do you wonder what it may be like to work for
one of the pace-setters in public access to technology and the Internet?
Wonder what is possible when you work for a System
that has a budget of $52 million and
stable funding paired with steady growth?
Wonder no more.
The King County Library System will recruit for new staff members at the
American Library Association Midwinter Meeting in Philadelphia in 1999,
on January 31 and February 1. We are a single-entity public library
system located in the beautiful state of Washington, and we serve a patron
base of one million through our 40-plus locations and 1000 staff members.
Amazon.com, Microsoft, Boeing, Nordstrom and Starbucks make their homes in
our service area that consists of urban, suburban and rural areas.
We are interested in conducting informational interviews with candidates
to discuss current and future openings. Although we are interested now in
energetic, experienced librarians for the field of young adult services,
people in all fields of interest and areas of expertise are encouraged to
come and meet with us.
Come see us via the Placement Service at the Midwinter Meeting, or review
our position openings on our web site or through our job-line.

Thank for all the bazillion :) responses about the dinosaur egg/Enormous
Egg inquiry. I'm sure you are all asking yourselves, "is she REALLY that
dumb?" (well--yes--sometimes I am ), but Enormous Egg was the first
thing my colleague suggested and the patron said "No, I don't think
that's it" So go figure--either the patron isn't recalling it quite
right or we're actually looking for something similar. Thanks anyway!!
