Subject: Early Childhood Services
Hello,
Our library system is in the process of evaluating the services we provide
to the early childhood populations in our communities, namely daycares and
preschools. I am doing a little research into what other large, suburban
and urban library systems offer in the way of services to this age group.
If your library's service population is over 500,000 and you have the time
to answer a few questions, we would be very grateful. Thank you for your
time. Please respond directly to me.
1. How many Children's FTE are in your system?
2. Do you have in-house storytimes for daycares/preschools?
3. Do you do outreach storytimes? If so, to whom and how often?
4. Do you have theme kits or special collections?
5. How did you determine your program of service to this population?
(surveys,etc)
6. Does the library have any special funding for services to this
population?
7. Do you have a service to daycares policy? Are you willing to share it?
