Subject: stumper - middle ages
Hello all --
We have a patron who has seen a book at his school library, finally has
time to read it - and - alas, can't get to it for a couple of months. Can
any of you help us identify it?
This is a chapter book that takes place in the Middle Ages. The main
character is a man who commits a crime and has his hand cut off.
A cast-off, he later proves useful - perhaps by sending messages or other
effort during a war.
Any bells?
Thanks,

Subject: Christian literature
I'm thinking of creating a juvenile bibliography of trade titles, that
is titles which are likely to be in an average library, which feature
Christian authors or ethics. Instead of turning away those who come in
requesting obscure Christian authors that no one in our system carries,
I would like to be able to offer them other titles. The titles I'm
most interested in would be fiction for those pre-school through grades
6. Some examples would be the Narnia series by Lewis, Christy by
Marshall, and possibly some titles by L'Engle.
Please post privately to me and I will share the compiled bib with the
list.

A patron remembers a book she read about a princess who is carried away by a

stumped, and
so am I.

helps!

Subject: Request for help
Dear Pubyacers,
I am a library student doing a project, and I'd like to
ask your help. I am looking for childrens and YA books
that have a theme of courtesy, manners, respect for
others, particularly fiction. As I have to read them
and incorporate them into a bibliography within two weeks,
I'd appreciate any help as soon as possible. You have
been very helpful in the past (thanks again!), and I'm
hoping you will be this time as well.
Thanks in advance,
Sara Levinson
