have a book that could be used by a Christian preschool sunday school

Subject: Free Expression Network: An Appeal to Reason
On the Free Expression Network is a petition to add your name to, if
you want. The petition, "An Appeal to Reason" at
http://www.freeexpression.org/reason.htm
describes how "recently, a group of prominent Americans, including
current and former public officials, issued a statement decrying
violence in entertainment that they called an "Appeal to Hollywood."
While there is certainly much to criticize in the media, this appeal
is likely to do more harm than good. By promoting the idea that
violent imagery causes crime and should be suppressed, it encourages
government censorship."
Please feel free to distribute this information appropriately.

I think someone asked about this a week or two ago, but I don't remember

here's the request again:
The patron is looking for a picture book about 14 bears who live in tree
houses, each house decorated a different style. Not much text, she
says, but lovely pictures! She read it as a child, about 15 years ago,
so it's at least that old.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Please let me know...

Hello everyone,
I have a patron looking for a book that she read when she was in grade
seven (early 1980's, maybe late 70's). It is about a girl who has had
an epileptic seizure that has put her into a coma. There is a twist- at
the end of the book the girl wakes up from her coma and all the events
that happen to her throughout the story happen in her head during her
coma....humm. I have checked Bookfinder volume 4 & 5, as well as The
Best of Bookfinder. Ring any bells? Thanks in advance!

helenmi@lori.state.ri.usHello,
One of our local storytellers is researching the folk tale "Two of
everything". Storyteller's Sourcebook and everything else we've found so
far describe it as a Chinese folk tale first collected in English
apparently by Alice Ritchie in "The Treasure of Li-Po". But this book
does
not have any source notes in it. The new picture book fairy tale "two of
Everything" by Lily Toy Hong is checked out of our library, so I'm unable
to check for any source notes there. The storyteller researching this was
told that it's a Korean tale..and she thinks the names Mr/Mrs Hak-Tak does
not sound Chinese. Can anyone out there provide us with more information?
Thanks!

Subject: flannel board stumper solved
Thank you everyone who replied to my stumper about a flannel board with
different colored houses and a gray mouse.
The overwhelming response was for "Little Mouse" in which the mouse is
hidden behind one of the houses and children are asked where they think
it is. The chant follows--
Little Mouse, little mouse,
Are you in the (name of color children choose) house?
There were many variations on how to actually carry out the
activity--Librarians are incredibly creative.
The other possibility was for houses of different sizes in which the
very last one hides a mouse.
"There was a little red house
And inside was a green house...
(and in the last house) There was a mouse or teddy bear or whatever
works for the theme/holiday.
Thank you again. I put all of your responses together in a nice packet
for the patron and she can create her own story!
