Subject: Picture books about toilet training
Dear Pubyaccers!
I have a couple of questions for you.
I am after picture books on toilet training for children. I have I want my
potty by Tony Ross but need some more. Can anyone help?
Also another of our librarians had a request for a book about a bear
that has a kitten for a pet. As he doesn't treat it properly the kitten is
taken away from the bear. Ring any bells.
Thanks for the help. I get some fantastic ideas from all of you.

Subject: Adult Books for Teens
Recently there was some discussion of adult books for teens and I got some
great suggestions, but now I am hoping to narrow it down. Does anybody have
any adult books for teens from this year (1999)? You can email to me
privately at ILefkowitz@aol.com or to the list. I will of course compile a
list for everyone.
Thanks in advance!

Subject: Stumper: Flying Car
We are looking for a book series, juvenile fiction, about a flying car.
The patron thinks the books came out or where available in the 60s. The
young protagonist went on adventures in said car, possibly with a male
nanny. It is definitely not Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Please send any tips directly to me, and thanks in advance for your
willingness to help.

Hi,
We had a patron ask for a book about a Mexican or
Latin American family that was so poor they had no
utensils, so they used a tortilla chip (or some other
food item) as a spoon. We looked in A to Zoo, Best
Books for Children, Our Family our friends, our world.
We also did a check on a Dynix system for libraries
near us. (Our computer system does not support
keyword searches). Does this sound familiar to
anyone? TIA
Jocelyn

Dear Erica,
I raised 6 children and I have 17 grandchildren and I
have always told them that anyone who gives a gift is
a Santa Claus. That way the true story of Santa is
true. There is a Santa Claus!

Hi! I've posted here before but always to offer help, never to ask for
it...until now.
A patron was looking for books, fiction or non, that help a child (10 yrs.
old) deal with having a family member who is mentally ill. We have been
unable to find anything!
Another thing I've noticed I can find practically nothing on is Scoliosis.
The only thing I could find for kids, either fiction or non, was Deenie, by
Judy Blume. Scoliosis is so "common" (meaning not rare or unheard of)
among
older girls and young teens and yet there seems to be so little out there.
A friend's daughter was suspected of having it and that's when I started
looking for stuff for her to read.
Any suggestions or tips? If possible, please respond directly and I will
compile and post after all messages have been received. Thanks in advance
for all your help!

PS- Is that member still out there looking for books we'd like to see
published? If so, please add these to the list! :0)

Due to a very messy desk, I misplaced the name of the contact at
Scholastic to order the Harry Potter kit. I believe we were to send an
adddress label, too. Would someone please respond directly w/ the
information?
Thanks!
