I am curious....do you watch what people are loking at?  While Marilyn
Manson is not my cup of tea musically it would not ever occur to me to
tell someone on their computer time that I would not allow them to look
at his web site.  Is that not censorship on a very personal level?  We
will filter I am sure at some point if forced to...but I am assuming that
the websites of musicians who sell millions of records will not be part of
what is filtered.

I know there have been requests for magazine recommendations in the recent
past, and I did keep some of those.  I have been asked to present a program
about new magazine titles for children (someone else is doing YA).  I've
been doing some research, and I have some newer titles, and I have asked
some of my local colleagues for input, but knowing how great the people on
this list are, I hope you won't mind sending out one more time the magazines
-- preferably newer publications -- that have been great finds for your
libraries.  Yes, I'll certainly be including such popular ones as Disney
Adventures, Nickelodeon, Sports Illustrated for Kids, and Sesame Street.  I
won't be ignoring less popular but quality titles like Click, Odyssey and
Cricket.  I'm looking forward to seeing what you would recommend among the
new crop of magazines!  Please reply off list to vasilik@palsplus.org.  I'll
put together a list of responses for all of you.  TIA.

We love ours.  It's about 8-1/2 wide though, so large posters are a problem.
Also, you can't use a sharpie marker on it very well. It's very simple to
use.  We even do craft projects with it (placemats).

This is all very cool.   Please make sure that
everyone having the WWF superstars make a visit to
document everything!:  take pictures, talk to kids,
and send press clippings to the YALSA office-

A Grandmother came to me recently looking for a book to read to her
grandson, who is living with her while the child's Father is away in the
Army.  The child is starting Kindergarten, and Daddy has been gone for a
couple of months, but each night the child asks where Daddy is and if he
will come back.  The Grandmother wants to be able to show him what his Daddy
is doing now (more or less) and reassure the child that Daddy will return.
I have shared Celebrating Families by Hausherr and the Lerner's Armed
Service Series, but still I have a half-remembered notion that there was a
picture book about a child awaiting her father's return for the army after
World Was II that ends with her Father returning safe and sound.  Anyone
recall this?

Hello Collective Brain,
Patron is looking for a book from the '80's about
children with pointed ears that would grow up if they
got their points removed. 3 books from popular fantasy
writer. Any guesses?
Thanks for your time.

A colleague remembers a book from his childhood about a penguin named
Richard (he thinks) who goes on a kind of adventure in the Arctic (?), on an
ice floe (?), and he cannot locate the book anywhere.  Amazon.com of course
yields many examples of Shakespeare's Richard plays in Penguin Editions!  No
help there.  The book was probably current in the late 50s, early 60s.  Does
anyone have some ideas about this one?  Thanking you in advance for your
help!

Thank you to everyone who helped me out with my stumper.  The answer to
the stumper was a book called "No More Monsters For Me!" by Peggy Parish.
The story is about a character named Minneapolis Simpkin who is not
allowed to have a pet so she finds an unusual replacement.
Thanks to everyone!!!!!!!!
