Thanks to all of you who knew the chair poem was "Down the Back of the
Chair" by Margaret Mahy.  I even got the full text from her website...my
Patron was delighted!  nancy

Erp, never mind; I see it is Lewiston, Maine. Just as upsetting, though,
since I have roots there and have always consider Down Easters a sensible
bunch.

Greetings pubyacers,
Does anyone have a bibliography of a literature/writing connection?  I would
like to put together a project introducing young readers to writing.  Has
anyone done this sort of project before?  If so, I would love to hear from
you.
You may e-mail me at work or at home.

Hi everyone. Hope you are having an excellent Friday. I recently asked for
info. and opinions on AR and was just alerted that my e-mail was not working
properly. I am not sure why that happened, but if anyone tried to send me
something, please try again. I am really working hard on a paper and would
appreciate any feedback on the subject.

Thanks!,

I just want everyone on this listserv to know that I got a virus just from
opening up an email that had the subject "www.britneyspears.com" in the
subject.  It was a worm virus and the techs here have fixed it, but beware
of any message that has "britneyspears" it in.  This one is so
sophisticated that I didn't have to open an attachment and there was no
indication in the subject.  Don't open any unusual looking email!

Once again I need just the right book and can't find it.  Can anyone
suggest a book for a 9 year old (with much higher reading ability) that
talks about living with cystic fibrosis?  He has just been diagnosed
with liver problems and is talking about not wanting to live.  His mom
has taken How It Feels to Live with a Disability and also How It Feels
to Fight for Your Life to see if they are appropriate, but we could use
other suggestions for books about coping.  Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for giving this some thought.
Carol

Is this Lewiston, IDAHO? Ninety miles east of me in Walla Walla?? Sufficient
people here object to the book but know it is too popular to attempt a ban.

I would definately advocate for a Toddler program! Here at the Schenectady
County Public Library we have baby lap times for under 2 and they sound
similar to yours. We go about 20 minutes, then have the moms and babies
stay for play time when we bring out all the soft toys. Our Toddler Time
is for 2 year olds, with an adult and is a full 30 minutes of a themed
storytime, lots of songs, action rhymes, and often a simple craft. The books
chosen are very different from Baby Lap, where we do less with books and
more
with songs and rhymes. The Toddlers have a longer attention span and more
physical abilities, so the program is very different. With our Pre-school
story hour for 3-5's, it is different than Toddlers in that parents don't
usually go in, the stories are longer to accomodate growing attention
spans. So. personally I like developmentally appropriate programs, if
you are able to manage it. If you are doing a Family Storytime and want
to have a wide variety of ages, that is something else entirely!
