Dear Members,
I requested this information last year and used it as a display in the
Library
with books on inventors and inventions. I liked the information I recieved
and
thought I would pass it along.

I have found the following author Scott Johnson does an excellent job with
hunting stories. He emphasizes hunter saftey courses as well as tells a
good
fiction tale. I can't wait until I'm old enough to hunt with dad is a
picture
book and Deer Tales series is for 8 year olds and above. I will look
forward to
anyother titles you receive as well. Our area is full of young hunters
also.

Thanks to everyone who responded so promptly to my stumper. The woman has
=
been looking for this book for years. It was, as many of you knew, We =
Were Tired of Living in a House, that she was searching for. She was =
thrilled!
Thanks to all!

I am looking for feedback from libraries that have been successful in
allowing outside organizations or individuals to care for sections of
shelving. We have library pages to shelve books but are looking for ways to
tidy up the shelves and also give the community a sense of ownership. We
would like to start off in our Youth Services area and have children be the
caregivers of their adopted shelf. Any comments, positive or not, are
welcomed!
Thank you,

Hello, colleagues: I have a request from a family counselor, that's
proving a challenge. She would like a list of books for K-2 that
have
families in which one parent is African-American and the other White (not
bi-racial representing other groups). Indexes such as A to Zoo and What do
Children Read Next aren't helpful because she's not really looking for
books with race as a subject. Does anyone have a helpful resource to
suggest? This list does not need to be extensive,so if you know of one or
two titles, please let me know and I can piece together a list. I'll post
the results if there is interest. I need to have it compiled by July 10.
TIA.

Greetings!
I am gathering information for an article I am attempting to write
about using teens as performers in library programs. For instance, we
had two teens who performed a Yo-Yo extravaganza in the schools this
year to promote the summer reading program.
I am looking for specific examples of programs; advice for people
wanting to use teens for this purpose; things you wish you had or
hadn't done etc...
If you have had any experience with this, good or bad, and would like
to share, I would appreciate it!
Please respond off list!
Thanks!
