Hello all,
My library has been placing orders through Baker and Taylor's
Titlesource 2 for a few months now. We have been having some
problems. We have been having problems with getting duplications of
books we order (for example we will place an order for 2 and receive 4).
Without going into the complex details I have been uncovering while
trying to figure out the reasons this is happening, I was wondering if
anyone "out there" has had duplication problems while using B&T's
Titlesource 2?
I am fairly confident, after tracking some things down, that it is not
usually a staff error. Unfortunately, the way our ordering process is
set up here, it's difficult to pinpoint exactly where the problem is
occurring.
If you have had any experience with this, I would love to hear from you!
Thanks in advance,
Sarah O'Shea

Chocolate Chip Ghost Story ???? Need please!!!
HELP!
It's Sunday morning and I just got asked to do a little
Halloween skit for a kids event on Wednesday afternoon.
They said, "No big deal -- just a little something"
"Chocolate Chip Ghost Story" -- ACK!
I have searched the Internet for the story and can not find it!
I figure I can make some fast ghost puppets with Styrofoam balls
and on sticks.
But I need the story!
If you have would you e-mail it to me at
LibraryLovers@calibraries.org
or
fax 818-980-7552
I'll embarrass myself here in front of all you experts
but here goes...
I'm also going to buy 5 little plastic pumpkins and
putting them on sticks...a cardboard fence with felt grass
and sing...
Five Little Pumpkins
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate (hold up fingers for pumpkins)
The first once said "Oh my! It's getting late"(slap face ala Home
Alone)
The second one said, "There are witches in the air"(point)
The third once said " But we don't care"(shrug shoulders)
The fourth once said "Let's have some fun" (throw hand in the air)
Then " Ooooooh" went the wind (say softly)
And OUT when the lights (clap hands to the word "out" and say loudly)
ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS would be appreciated !!!
We are borrowing a stage and a friend or two will assist
from behind as I tell the story from the front.
I'm putting a *glow stick* inside an big old book. I'll
cut a hole in the pages...when I open the book it will glow
green in my face.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my query about books for children on
prioritizing and following their passions!
Here is my original post and responses that follow:
ORIGINAL POST:
I have a teacher who would like a list of picture books to be read aloud
to grades K-5. She wants the message of the books to be about
"prioritizing and following
one's passion/mission". I suggested Miss Rumphius, Matthew's Dream,
The
Painter who Loved Chickens, and Brave Irene. I even thought of using
"Donkey Trouble" as an example of what happens when we don't
"listen to
our own knowledge" ... none of these captures what she wants. I
looked
through A-Zoo, but really didn't see anything that addresses the "need
to prioritize" - which is what the teacher thinks is missing from the
titles I suggested.
