Could someone please mention the issue number, date, etc. of this magazine
that is being discussed? I deleted all of the reference to it, as I thought
our system didn't subscribe to it. Then this weekend I ran across one from
another branch and thought maybe I would like to take a look at this
magazine. I am curious if it is a "good" mag for teens as we are
setting up
a teen area at our branch. Thanks,
Diana Cook

Thanks to all who took the time to look for a book showing
Santa kneeling beside the baby Jesus.
In alpha order (how else) Diana Norton and Ann Shumaker found
the title - Santa and the Christ Child on the net. Diana Norton
relayed that it is availabe from Amazon.
Lisa Bauer, Debra Bogart, Paula Lopatic and Julie Ann Rines
had good titles but when I called the patron she remember the
title as soon as she heard it.
Thanks again to all.
May you have the very best holiday season ever!

Hi Jerri et others:
Vancouver Public Library has put together an excellent list, available
online. Organized by picturebook, easy fiction, fiction, YA, videos,
non-fiction and resources for adults.
The list is also being in reprinted Vol. 30 of Teacher Librarian <I'm the
editor :) >
Find the online list at:

A mother with a young boy (2nd grade) was just in and wanting information on
how to deal with bullies and so called friends who make fun of others.

Hello all,
Here's a stumper with vague "facts." A patron remembers reading
a picture
book in the late 1960's with a mischievous little girl named Beatrice
(Beatrix?) in it. She remembers no particular scenarios, characters,
author, etc. but she really would like to reconnect with it.
Thanks for any help you can lend. Please respond to: nnorth@snap.lib.ca.us

Greetings all!
A patron came in asking about a play/story/booklength poem he heard on
the radio 4 or 5 years ago. It sounds like the movie Monsters Inc, but
it isn't. The characters in the story speak in rhyme and may come out of
the closet into the little girl's bedroom. Her name is 'Boo'. He said
the language was exquisite - like Shakespeare. Any ideas?
Please send replies directly to me and I'll post the answer.

Hi everyone,
This is probably unlikely, but has
anyone done an annotated
bibliography of Hanukkah videos? We have a patron who is interested in a
list of good Hanukkah videos. If you have one, please send to me via
e-mail
or snail mail. Thank You.
Happy Holidays!

Does anyone recognize the following:
A short story, possibly a poem, by Eli Weisel about 2 Jewish children (maybe
in a concentration camp or ghetto) who sneak out at night to look for a
candle they can light
