Hello. We don't have "Anne of Green Gables: the
Continuing Story" but if we did we'd undoubtedly put it in the adult
section since that's where the first two videos have been housed. I
have seen it and would agree that it is definitely a departure
from "Anne of Green Gables" and "Anne of Avonlea" which were
what I'd term "feel-good" videos.

Special thanks to Shari Haber & Robin P. Lensing
who identified the book as Sarah's room / by Doris
Orgel ; with pictures by Maurice Sendak.
Summary Little sister Jenny would like nothing more
than to play in sister Sarah's room, but Sarah and
Mother think Jenny is too little and irresponsible
until a magical adventure changes everything.
I just got of the phone with our patron and she was
thrilled. Unfortunately we don't own the book but
she's considering an ILL.

Hi!
I need help. I have a patron who is looking for a small ABC book that
she thinks was published in the 1940s or 50s. She said that it is about
5" tall and 4.5" wide with a tan linen cover with no print on the
cover
(could have been rebound of course). The illustrations are very simple
pictures of children and all black and white. And the letter A shows a
girl as an "artist." If you have any ideas as to what book this
may be,
please email me directly at:
pamelape@lori.state.ri.us
or respond to the list.
THANK YOU in advance!!
Pam

Thanks to the wise librarians who sent me "Why Not Join The Giraffes"
by
Hope Campbell (a pseudonym for Geraldine Wallis) from 1968. My patron
was thrilled! There are a few copies out there to borrow on World Cat,
too!

Please help. I have a patron looking for a book she read in the 70s.
She thinks it was called Mr Bill's Belt. It was a fat man who began by
trying on a belt and then ended up with several. She can't remember why he
was trying them on. I have looked in A to Zoo and Children's Catalog and
WorldCat.
Thanks for whatever you can do.

Our copy of Anne of Green Gables, the Continuing Story is shelved in the
children's department. I have never had one patron comment or complain about
this video.

Hi all,
I have a patron looking for a book (not comic) that she read that was about
the Lil Abner
character Smoos. She said it was about good little things, she can remember
pictures of white ghost w/ no arms & no legs. This was around 1955 and she
was in the 4th grade or so when she read it.
thanks!
