Hi, All.

I am working on a grant project with which I will be updating some of
our YA social issues reference resources as well as our literary
criticism tools.  We had to discontinue getting Contemporary Literary
Criticism several years ago due to budget constraints, and would like
something to supplement what we do have.  Do any of you have any
recommendations for wonderful literary criticism references for high
school students that don't cost above about $500.00 for a set?  We need
something that is complete unto itself, not an ongoing subscription.
For that reason, we cannot use online databases.

Am I asking for the moon and the stars, too?

Thanks for any suggestions!

I am looking for some picture books for a patron that has adopted her
grandaughter.  Her daughter is not a permanent presence in her daughter's
life, but does show up from time to time.  She is looking for a book to read
to her granddaughter about mommies loving you even if they aren't living
with you or books that have grandparents raising their grandchildren.  She
is four years old.

Thanks for your help!

A coworker of mine is looking for the title of a book she read in the late
70s to early 80s at Christmas time. It was about a tiny Christmas tree in
the tree lot that no one wanted to buy because it was so tiny. Then a big
burly man came and bought it and ended up putting it on the mast of his boat
in the harbor. So, it was the tallest Christmas tree in the whole town. We
have searched the internet and that's it. Thank you.

Heather
