Dear PUBYACkers,

Over the next few weeks, I am going to send updates on the process of
migrating our PUBYAC listserver to a new software package so that you all
are hopefully 1) not surprised when it happens, and 2) psychologically ready
for the change.  The old software is no longer supported.  We are also being
moved to a new server which should be faster.

Right now I'm on a guinea pig list and am testing out the software with a
bunch of other moderators.

One change is that all subscription settings can be adjusted online via a
Web interface.  You will receive a password to log into the website so that
you can adjust your subscription to Digests or to postpone your mail.  You
will also be able to change settings via e-mail, but having both options is
really nice.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Does anyone have any information about Berits Best Web Sites for Children? I
have been trying to access it from different computers since Wednesday.

Thank you to all who have answered my request for big book vendors!

BWI was the one that appeared the most frequently.

I have a patron looking for a book she read in 6th grade (early 80s)

The plot is that one Native American tribe goes to attack another and a
young brave kidnaps a girl from the other tribe. He eventually wins her
over, They fall in love and now cannot go back to either tribe. Does
this ring a bell with anyone? I've tried Best Books for Children and
Novelist to no avail.

Thanks for your help!

Storytellers,
I am working on building a collection for a school of children with
disabilities. They are interested in getting some puppets, but with a
limited budget, I want to choose the puppets wisely. What kind of puppets to
you feel the children respond to the most? Where should they put their
money? Dogs? Dragons? Human figures?...Lions? Tigers? or Bears? Oh my! So,
many wonderful puppets out there now-a-days. What puppet characters have you
had the most success with? Please respond off list and with any other
suggestions. I'm all ears.
