Subject: stumper - tiger in the tea pot

One of my coworkers has just introduced me to a fun story, The Tiger in
The
Teapot, taught to her by her mother. I am interested in finding out if
anyone
knows a source for this tale. This is a story where the mother finds a
tiger
in the tea pot and tries in vain to get it out so she can make tea. A
succession of family members try and finally the littlest girl gets the
tiger
to come out and share tea when he learns there is also chocolate cake.

Has anyone heard this before and can give me a source?

Thanks,

Susan Moore

Subject: HEADS UP! America Links Up: A National Teach-In

The American Library Association is one of the major players in a
followup to the 1997 Internet Online Summit: Focus on Children.
*America Links Up: A National Teach-In* is an outreach campaign
designed to help parents, teachers, librarians and others engaged in
children's online experience learn how to safely use the Internet.
The campaign is a commitment made at the Internet Online Summit to
find solutions to safety and other issues for America's children
online.

Tentatively scheduled for the week of September 14-20, 1998, the
Teach-In will launch with a nationally televised Town Hall with local
Town Halls happening across the country. These meetings will
demonstrate the Internet, how it works and outline what issues every
parent, teacher, librarian and child should know. Town Halls will
also provide the forum for communities to discuss online issues with
a local focus. During the week of the Teach-In, schools, libraries
and community organizations across the country will open their doors
so anyone can learn how to have an educational and safe experience
online. Adults and children can take advantage of free tutorials to
learn the basics of the Internet, tools that promote safe, rewarding
online experiences, how to use good quality content and how families
can safely navigate their way around this new medium.

In addition to the American Library Association, other members of the
coalition include the Department of Education, the National
Association of Secondary School Principals, The Children's
Partnership, the Center for Media Education, Enough is Enough, the
National Education Association, Family Education Company, America
Online, AT&T, Disney Company, Microsoft, and Time Warner, among
others.

More information will be available at a later date.
