Subject: stumper - lady living in willow tree

Hi everyone!
I have a patron looking for a picture book published somewhere around
the mid to late 60's. She says it was about a woman who lived in a tree
(she believes it is a willow tree) who is scorned by the people in the
nearby town. One day there is a flood and everyone, except the old
lady, loses everything. She then invites the whole town to her tree
house for hot chocolate. I've checked in A to Zoo and NoveList, but
can't come up with anything. If anyone knows this book could you please
reply directly to me at the address below.

Thanks alot,

Subject: stumper

Hello all:

I have patron who remembers reading a series about a family who had to
travel from place to place (she thinks they may gave been migrant
workers), but she can't remember author/title/lots of details...
One thing she does remember is a girl in one of the books being excited
because she was able to make a dress from a four sack that had a pattern
on it rather than just saying 'flour' on the front.

Please send any possibilities to me directly. Any help will be
appreciated.

:) Lisa

Subject: Potty Training Books for 2 year old

Hi all,
Our children's librarian is away, and we need some suggestions for potty
training books that can be shared with a 2 year old. We only have
_Potty Time_ by Paterson. Do you all have some favorites that we can
recommend to her? She'd like some titles that she can purchase, so they
would need to be available. The sooner, the better :)
Thanks!

Subject: stumper - kids who fly

Hello!

A patron remembers reading a short chapter book in the late 60's or early
70's about a group of children on vacation (maybe summer vacation) who
figure out how to fly (without machinery or aid). Sound familiar?

Thanks in advance!

Subject: need help finding title of book

I am not a member of this list, so please respond to me directly.

I am looking for the title/author of a book for which I have very sketchy
information. It is a book I purchased through a book club in elementary
school about 20 years ago. It's about a young girl in the Middle Ages whose
home is invaded by men looking for her family's treasure. She ends up
falling in love with one of the men and at the end of the book shows him
that the treasure is buried beneath a rose bush. That's all I can remember.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Subject: stumper of Darling Dora

Hi All! Hope you can help solve a stumper a patron brought to me today =
- - there are parts of it that sound familiar, but.... can't find or =
remember anything specific! He describes 26 books - one for each letter =
of the alphabet that he would have read to his child about 14 years ago. =
(He doesn't know the age of the books at that time.) Each book had a =
story that represented a letter of the alphabet. He said they were =
written in rhyme for the most part and had a "Seuss like" quality to =
both the rhymes and illustrationss. He remembers one volume/book ("D) =
... that had language of "Darling Dora, the daughter of the king and =
queen, who also had a dragon named Duddledee"! It's not an exact quote =
from the book, but close, as he calls. We looked through A to Zoo and =
