I am familiar with the Odyssey tapes because I used to teach in a Christian
School. There are two sets of tapes... the audio tapes and video tapes.
They were fairly good, and my students really enjoyed them. They would have
several stories with "real" children going through something difficult, like
someone cheating on a test in school or something like that... and then
there was always a moral of the story, along with a Biblical scripture. My
friend who loaned them to me bought them at a local Christian bookstore.
Hope this helps! Heidi Pastore

Greetings,

I've been lurking for a few months now, and finally have need for the
collective wisdom of the list.

A patron is looking for a book (a paperback) she read in the late 80's.
The pages were yellowed even then. It is set on Earth, in a futuristic,
utopian society. In this society, everyone is granted a "Universal
Guaranteed Income" (a phrase she remembers distincly from the book), which
they use to meet their needs financially. Only select individuals
are chosen to do "work." It is a great honor to be given a job in this
society.

Does this ring any bells with anybody?
