Does anyone have an idea for a simple Russian craft, besides a matrioska

Subject: Audiocassette collections
Dear PUBYACCERS:
At the Cape Girardeau Public Library, we are having trouble naming our
collection code for Juvenile audiocassettes. In the past we have had one
code, J-CAS, listed in the catalog computer for the cassettes and the book
in a hanging bag. Recently we have been purchasing books on tape (with no
accompanying book) from Listening Library and other like companies that
come prepackage in its own case, much like a video case. These we have put
on a shelf for easier browsing. The question is: Do any other libraries
seperate these collections and if so how do you identify the difference in
the Catalog?
Thanks for the help,

Even if you don't want to order on-line the site
is still chock full of info. we can use on a
daily basis - looking for a particular genre,
author, or subject. Just check it out...I can
rave forever but you'll see better for yourself.

Subject: RE: ALA Website clarification
The link I sent you is the policy for the ALSC 700+ Great Web Sites _only_,
not any other of the ALA sites. As I said, there is not a finalized policy
yet for all the sites linked from the very large ALA Web site; a draft
policy may be discussed at the Midwinter conference in January. If you can
get hold of a November issue of SLJ (any large library should have it), you
will see a news story there we ran on the NOI site on p. 17. That story
should answer your questions. If you want to ask questions about ALSC
policy, contact Rebecca Singer at the ALSC office at rsinger@ala.org. --W

Friends, I'm thinking of doing a "Festival of Freedom" as a school-age
program around July 4 next summer. Can you help me with ideas of fun
stories and activities on this theme? I want to get beyond platitudes to
convey how it can be scary as well as heroic to stand for people's
rights. Please reply directly to me at edm-youth@sno-isle.org; I will
summarize and post to the list. Thanks very much!

We have a changing room in our library. It is next to the children's rest rooms
and has a counter for changing baby and a platform rocker for the nursing
mother. It is a separate room so can be used by fathers and mothers alike. I
think this is very important! Our parents love having a place to change baby and
to nurse baby.
Opinions expressed are mine and do not represent the Waukesha Public Library.

We have lot of mothers asking for nursing area in the library. Do any
of the libraries have such a facility? and if you do how do you manage I
would like to know the pros and cons of it. I need this information for
the new library that we will be building in the very near future. Thank
you for the input. You may reply me at me email Idholaki@lcpl.lib.va.us

Subject: RE: Sunday hours
I think I may have replied privately to this Sunday question, but after
reading everybody else's responses, I just wanted to say that I wish we
got time and a half at my library for Sundays. We staff completely with
part timers, because that way you don't have to give time off in lieu or
pay time and a half or anything like that. Our Sundays are BUSY! I don't
mind that, but believe me if anything is going to go wrong (snow storm,
fire alarms, people stuck in elevators, forgetting to turn the heat on in
winter/air conditioning on in summer, whatever), it is guaranteed to
happen on a Sunday, so make sure that Sunday staff are trained to deal
with ANYTHING that you can think off, especially if they are part timers
who don't work a lot of hours during the rest of the week.

Hello all --
We are going through I'm sure a very commen dilemma. We have 3 computers

children as young as 2 or being durable.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
