I'm not sure what my library's policy is on this, but, for myself I say
call the authorities. Recent event have taught us that looking the other
way can have dire consequences.

Hi all- a patron came in today and told me how great a book involving a
lady named Ms. Pickerel was. She had adventures to the moon and playing
football. She thinks she read this about 30 years ago (She is 37 now).
TIA

Hello all,
Our order department has been having trouble finding some of the
software I am finding reviewed in Children's Software Revue. We have to
purchase using POs so can't go directly to some of the publishers. Does
anyone have a good source?

Each year we do a craft for Mardi Gras. We are trying to think of
something
new besides the usual float or mask. If anyone has done something real
interesting for Mardi Gras can you please contact me. Thanks in advance.

One of our patrons is looking for a book she read as a child in the
1970's about a girl who keeps losing things. These lost items keep
turning up in one of the drawers of a magic dresser or wardrobe. This
is all she can remember. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thank you
for any help.

Hi,
I am looking to make list of books, organizations and websites that deal =
with the issue of the grandparents having custody or acting as the =
primary care-giver of children. In our small community this is becoming =
more of evident and they are asking for help. I have three that are now =
in my preschool program, out of fifteen. Please email me any =
suggestions for children that find themselves in this situation and also =
books for the grandparents.

Help, please.
Patron is looking for a "Dr. Seuss-like" rhyming book
about a boy(?)with a pet fish, maybe a goldfish that
keeps outgrowing his containers and has to be moved to
a bigger one.
It's not a new book, and she says it even "looks like"
a Dr. Seuss book.
Thanks in advance.

Eugene Public Library is opening a new downtown library at the end of this
year. Throughout 2003, we are planning large events to bring in the
community to our fabulous new facility. One of those events may include
children's book illustrators. If you have had a fabulous experience
working
with an illustrator at your library, please email me a response directly
offlist about the who, where, what!

I posted this on Wednesday, and forgot to put a subject, so I apologize
if you have already read this. I feel a little stupid, but give me a
break, I was trying to be "business as usual", but we were in the path
of Lili and I was really thinking about that. Anywho, here is my
request. Thank you all.
Hello PUBYACers,
This is a collection development question. Our library is working on an
outreach to a small Hispanic population. As part of that, we want to
develop a core collection of Spanish juvenile titles, mainly picture
books. We want to especially purchase titles that have the text in
English and Spanish, side by side, such as Ehlert's Moon Rope. I would
appreciate any suggestions or directions to booklists. Please send to me
directly and I will post the results to the list.
Thanks!

Hi all!
I had this question last night, and the description seemed familiar, but I
was unable to come up with a title. I'm hoping one of you smart people can
help.
She read the book to her child/children in the early to mid-70's. All she
remembers is that "...everyone goes potty. The fireman goes potty,
the
policeman goes potty, the grandmother goes potty..."
I searched our database using all the keywords I could think of, and looked
in A to Zoo, but came up with nothing that seemed like the right book. If
anyone can help, please email me at: freddawilliams@hotmail.com
Thanks!
